My Favorite Looks From The Versace Fall 2015 Collection!

  • Original article posted by   Tim Blanks February 27, 2015

Donatella Versace has been waiting for this moment her whole life. She's always been a go-fast girl. Now matters most. She doesn't pretend to be fluent in digitalism—that's what "people" are for, after all—but with her new collection, she managed an effective integration of Versace's past with the digital present, and a possible future in which, according to news reports, there might be an IPO for the company. You need to present a picture of glowing health in such circumstances, and the catwalk tonight certainly offered that. It was brimming with product: shoes and stockings and bags and sporty bits and pieces that spelled out V-E-R-S-A-C-E in crystal to the world.
  • Now for my own opinion and favorite looks from the Versace 2015 runway show!
I absolutely love when designers think out of the box when it comes to color choices for their fall collections. It's usually earth tones or colors like Brown, Rust and the universal color Black that fills the runways for the fall/winter collections. But not for Donatella Versace! She took the color yellow and turned it up to 10, and created some amazing pieces like this faux fur zipper jacket with rounded shoulders and mid size knit collar and placed over a clean matching mock neck top with a pair high waisted flat front straight leg slacks. These 60's inspired swing coat, oversized sunglasses and thigh high boots with red bottom platforms would make any fashionista the envy of all!

  • In the mid 90's there was a high end men and women's clothing store on the boardwalk of Atlantic City where I grew up called Eleganza. The window's were hugh and wrapped around the entire store, there were lots of  beautiful items in the window with the name VERSACE in bold print on everything like Sweaters, shoes , dresses, coats and handbags, of course we wanted every item we laid our eyes on! That's why I'm so happy to see that Donatella has giving us a fashion throwback with a modern version of the classic 90's Versace collection. The name VERSACE has been printed in bright vibrant colors, like neon red , yellow and light green which are all embroidered on mock neck long sleeve tops with patent leather accents. The mid length leather skirt has a few large alphabets cascading down the front in neon green and black, which is right below the extra wide suede belt with a patent leather buckle .But it's the matching neon colored jewelry, strappy heels and greek embroidered stitched handbags that make this bold fashion statement complete and fashion forward!

If you have been following the house of Versace since founder Gianni Versace was the head designer you would already know that he was the master of mixing prints, colors and textiles! The 90's was the decade of the supermodels like Naomi, Cindy, Claudia, Christy and Linda who grace the Versace runways wearing Greek mytholo images like Medusa in bright fuchsia colors with overlays of black and white checkered squares, bordered with neon palm trees and baby angels flying to and fro the entire ensemble. Well Donatella pays homage to her late brother by revisiting the iconic area and giving it a modern and chic look! Instead of using printed silks and multicolored textiles she used exquisite and vibrant colored beading to create her own shapes, prints and textiles like only the house of Versace can create! Alphabits, hash tags, large @ logos and greek mythology borders over simple cocktail silhouettes like one shoulder, long sleeve chiffon & strapless dresses. Some dresses were covered in beaded design and some with just beaded design accents which glittered and sparkled down the runway!

  • The design and art work of each garment was magnificent but of course the whole collection was stunning, but I only blogged about My favorite looks because these updated throwback  fashions really hit home for me being a Versace fan since the late 80's and after watching the full runway show I will be a fan until my last breath!

My Favorite Red Carpet Looks At The Billboard Music Awards 2015: What the Stars Wore ?

Jennifer Lopez

Bow down! The "Booty" singer continued her trend of nearly naked dresses in a sheer Charbel Zoe gown with strategically placed silver swirls, teamed with Christian Louboutin heels. She kept the rest of her look simple, wearing her ombre hair in loose waves and pairing her peachy pout with smoky eyes.

Olivia Culpo

Nick Jonas' gorgeous leading lady dazzled in a black sequined romper by Elie Saab, which she teamed with jewel-encrusted black sandals and spotlight-stealing diamond earrings.

Danica McKellar

Wonder-ful! The Wonder Years alum — a presenter at the BBMAs — turned up the glamour in a slinky, one-shouldered sequined Shail K. gown with a thigh-baring slit.

Taylor Swift

Never out of style! The 1989 pop star — who opened the show with the world premiere of her star-stuffed new music video for "Bad Blood" — showed some skin in a cleavage-baring white Balmain jumpsuit with side cutouts. She accessorized the look with Brian Atwood heels and a custom black clutch reading "Bad Blood" in bold red letters.

Cannes 2015: Flats-Wearing Women Get Rejected, Celebs Weigh In

One look  the Cannes Film Festival red carpet,  and you know the unofficial motto is “go big or go home.” But we didn’t realize that applied to heel height as well. After reports surfaced that women were being turned away from the festival’s famous stairs for wearing fancy flats instead of celeb-worthy stilettos, celebs weighed in on the injustice of it all. ,According to Screen International, Emily Blunt was asked about the red carpet rejections at a press junket for her film Sicaro (that’s her in a Peter Pilotto dress and Jimmy Choo, yes, heels) attending the event, above). “Everyone should wear flats to be honest. We shouldn’t be wearing high heels anyways,” Blunt reportedly said. “That’s my point of view. I just prefer wearing Converse sneakers.” The film’s director was said to chime in, joking that he and her costars Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin would also be wearing heels to the film’s Tuesday premiere in protest.

Though several people (including Senna director Asif Kapadia) corroborated reports that even older women and women with disabilities were turned away from the Carol premiere and instructed to come back when they had bought appropriate shoes, a Cannes spokesperson told the BBC by email that there were no such restrictions in place. “Rules have not changed throughout the years (tuxedo, formal dress for gala screenings) and there is no specific mention about the height of the women’s heels as well as for men’s,” the spokesperson explained. Festival director Thierry Fremaux also Tweeted that the reports were “unfounded.
Can you believe there’s a heel height requirement? Would you wear flats with a gown?
