My Top 5 Best Dressed At The 2015 CMT Music Awards

If you follow my blog ( DoTube On The Red Carpet,) you would know I have been talking about the different degrees of the infamous Red Carpet! What may be appropriate on the Red Carpet at the people's choice awards may not always be appropriate for the Red Carpet at the Oscars!

But this is the Red Carpet at the music awards so it's a lot more casual and versatile, it's where leather meets lace, denim meets diamonds and if your Lady GaGa it's where raw meat meets flesh and bone if that makes any sense? and because it's the country music awards you may see a little more cowboy hats and western style on the Red Carpet which in this case is perfectly acceptable!

As you will see in my My Top 5 Best Dressed At The 2015 CMT Music Awards I went with the short and sassy one piece dresses with easy hair and clean makeup, and of course there is always an exception to the rule.So put on your cow girl hat and play some Willy Nelson music and enjoy the review!

Yes I realize Will Nelson has not release an album in 20 years but I'm a old school country boy!

DANIELLE BRADBERY The Voice season four champ slips into a glittering beaded bodycon for the evening, Sanford Myers/Invision/AP

( My Opinion )
All the glitz without the drama!
Beautiful gold beaded dress with a great length and seer in all the right spots. A simple ponytail keeps the look young, a nude lip clean makeup and smokey eyes makes her Red Carpet ready!

NIKKI REED Très chic! Mrs. Ian Somerhalder is poised and polished in a dainty white KaufmanFranco frock. Larry Busacca/Getty Images

( My Opinion )
Simplicity is key in this fashion statement!
White criss cross neckline with triangle center cutout on top and A-line cocktail length on bottom. Hair is soft and part in the middle which looks very neutral.Silver accessories like pumps, clutch and expensive diamond jewelry really makes this star shine!

ASHLEY MONROE There's nothing better than a delicate white frock with refined embellishments. Kevin Mazur/WireImage

( My Opinion )
  Did someone say 1960's chic?!
A long tee-shirt silhouette with silver bling embellishments on shoulders and sleeves. Frosted pink lips and double eyelashes is paying the perfect homage to the worlds first supper model twiggy!  Her long wavy hair, big hoop earrings, rhinestone clutch and high polished silver platforms really makes this a complete 1960's chic look!

CARRIE UNDERWOOD She's back! After a post-baby red carpet hiatus, she looks hotter than ever in a sexy white Thomas Wylde mini with a Deepa Gurnani clutch.

( My Opinion )
Honesty is the best policy!
To be very honest I'm not a fan of the dress, it's way to short and what I hope is shoulder pads are way to big! the material looks a little cheap also. So you might be wondering how did she make my top 5 best dressed? Well it's simple, this type of material is very unforgiving, it shows every bump and imperfection on a women's body, maybe only 5% of the women in america could wear this type of dress ( of course that's my own statistics ) but it seams correct to me! So to answer your question? she looks amazing in a dress that's almost impossible to look good in! not a bump or imperfection to be found, the hair looks flawless and her smile brightens up the room! Because of these factors I feel validated in my decision to add her to my top 5 best dressed.

HILLARY SCOTT The Lady Antebellum singer is darkly romantic in a black satin halter dress. Kevin Mazur/WireImage
( My Opinion )
My exception to the rule!
As you may know I'm a big advocate for age appropriate dressing as well as body conscious dressing, not to say there isn't any big women who can't rock a mini or form fitted dress because lord knows there is! My rule of thumb is this, KNOW WHAT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU! not everyone looks good in the latest trends and styles. That's why this exception to the rule made my top 5 best dressed, her fashion statement says I don't need to wear short and sassy, I can wear glamorous and voluptuous and still knock them dead on the Red Carpet! and she did, I love this black satin halter dress with beautiful art work on the bottom and cinched in waist. The pop of color on her lips, soft hair and bling dangling earrings makes her a true fashionista!

Well I hoped you enjoyed My Top 5 Best Dressed At The 2015 CMT Music Awards!

My Top 5 Best Dressed At The 2015 TONY AWARDS!

As I had said in my last post ( My Picks For CFDA ) there are different degrees of the infamous Red Carpet!
There are different styles of dressing for different Red Carpet occasions, some allowed a person to project their own style while other demand the highest quality of couture gowns and high paid stylist!

Well since this is The Tony Awards which honor the actors and actresses of  Broadway theater this Red Carpet is very sophisticated and proper! You should NOT see ostrich features / boas, ultra mini cocktail, neon colors, cut outs, see through or outlandish dresses, of course this is just my opinion and there is an exception to every rule.

As you will see I went with the sophisticated, proper and classic fashions which no one could ever go wrong with on the Red Carpet, So I hope you enjoy my top 5 Best Dressed in no particular order!

JENNIFER LOPEZ Rocking a faux bob, JLo is a dream in this navy and gold ball Valentino Couture gown Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions

Jennifer Lopez Tony Awards Red Carpet 2015
( My opinion )
Miss Jlo does it again! I love this gown from the color, to the dark gold spangles, the cut across the bust and length of the gown! I love the way her light skin tone looks behind this shade of navy blue. Her dark burgundy lips, smokey eyes and gold high lights that match the gold spangles in the dress are superb! The small matching clutch is also a great touch. So it's no surprise when I say she looks amazing as always!

HELEN MIRREN The iconic actress picks a lacy Badgley Mischka gown with billowing draped sleeves for her outfit du jour. Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions

HELEN MIRREN Tony Awards Red Carpet 2015
( My Opinion )
I'm a big advocate when it comes to age appropriate dressing, even though there are some women in their 50's/60's who are in better shape than some women in their 30's/40's, I just believer it's the proper etiquette for the Red Carpet. That's why I had to pick Helen Mirren! even though she has a body that any age woman would kill for, she decide to go with a sophisticated and age appropriate gown. The subtle plunge line and short bob haircut keeps her looking fresh and modern, while the exquisite beading around the neck and waist line and sheer draping sleeves with beautiful embroidery makes this elegant off white gown a real fashion moment!

GRETCHEN MOL It's a slinky black gown for the star. Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions
GRETCHEN MOL Tony Awards Red Carpet 2015
 ( My Opinion )
Some of the best advice I could give any women who says she's wearing a black dress is,
Black could get a little boring and blend in the crowd, that's why it should be a knock out!And by all means Gretchen Mol high shine black one shoulder dress is amazing! This is exactly what I meant when I made the above statement, now this type of shiny material cloud sometimes come across like lingerie, but her pop of color lipstick, up hairdo and stylish accessories like dangling earring, statement cocktail ring and black clutch makes this black dress Red Carpet ready!

JENNIFER NETTLES The singer is refined in a draped one-shoulder champagne design. Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions

JENNIFER NETTLE Tony Awards Red Carpet 2015
 ( My Opinion )
When I hear the words sophisticated and elegant images of silk, chiffon, diamonds and champagne pop in my head! So of course a dress made up of all those elements like Jennifer Nettles wore on the Red Capet would have to be in my top 5 best dressed! I am speechless about this throwback to old Hollywood glamour look! the fit and flow is flawless ( try to say that fast 3 times in a row ) and the Audrey Hapburn hair and makeup is timeless, Absolutely love this!

JUDITH LIGHT Found: The most sophisticated white lace jumpsuit to hit the red carpet yet! Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images for Tony Awards Productions

JUDITH LIGHT Tony Awards Red Carpet 2015
( My Opinion )
Like I said in my opening statement there is always an exception to the rule, especially when it comes to the ones you love! Being a 80's kid I was and still am a big fan of Judith Light from TV's sitcom Who's The Boss? She played Angela Bower the queen of ready to wear, any time she walked on the TV screen she was styled from heard to toe, always looking rich and beautiful with expensive ensembles and fashionable accessories, Ok I had a bit of a crush on her ( Still Do ) I believe if Angela Bower the president of Bower agency would have walk the Red Carpet today this is exactly what she would had worn! A chic wide leg white jumpsuit with lace top which is also runs down the sides of the pants. Her signature blond hair was just as sleek and cool as the jumpsuit it self, some bling accessorizes and large white clutch completes the Red Carpet look which needs no shoulder pads or Tony Micelli thank you very much!

My Picks For Best Dressed At The 2015 CFDA FASHION AWARDS!

When People hear the word RED CARPET they automatically think long elegant dresses which is true, but not in every case. You see as any real fashion lover knows there are many degrees of the infamous Red Carpet, like the red carpet at The Oscars is much different from the red carpet at The Met Gala, and totally different from the red carpet at the people's choice and music awards!

You could wear an amazing couture gown on the red carpet at The Oscars and be on all best dressed list, or wear the same dress at the people's choice awards and be on all worst dress list! it's just that complex. In my eyes The Red Carpet at the CFDA | COUNCIL OF FASHION DESIGNERS OF AMERICA is a whole other type of Red Carpet, because the CFDA is honoring the amazing and talented designers who design for the Red Carpet on any degree all over the world!

So all bets are off when it comes to styling, editorial and couture fashions, that's why some of my picks are out of the box as far as the traditional Red Carpets goes. Because this award is honoring the art of design more than the latest fashion trends it gives the individual the freedom to express their personal style on the Red Carpet, which is more exciting to me than a fashion robot who only wears what people tell them to wear! So I hope you guys like My Picks For Best Dressed At The 2015 CFDA FASHION AWARDS!

My Favorite Looks From The Versace Fall 2015 Collection!

  • Original article posted by   Tim Blanks February 27, 2015

Donatella Versace has been waiting for this moment her whole life. She's always been a go-fast girl. Now matters most. She doesn't pretend to be fluent in digitalism—that's what "people" are for, after all—but with her new collection, she managed an effective integration of Versace's past with the digital present, and a possible future in which, according to news reports, there might be an IPO for the company. You need to present a picture of glowing health in such circumstances, and the catwalk tonight certainly offered that. It was brimming with product: shoes and stockings and bags and sporty bits and pieces that spelled out V-E-R-S-A-C-E in crystal to the world.
  • Now for my own opinion and favorite looks from the Versace 2015 runway show!
I absolutely love when designers think out of the box when it comes to color choices for their fall collections. It's usually earth tones or colors like Brown, Rust and the universal color Black that fills the runways for the fall/winter collections. But not for Donatella Versace! She took the color yellow and turned it up to 10, and created some amazing pieces like this faux fur zipper jacket with rounded shoulders and mid size knit collar and placed over a clean matching mock neck top with a pair high waisted flat front straight leg slacks. These 60's inspired swing coat, oversized sunglasses and thigh high boots with red bottom platforms would make any fashionista the envy of all!

  • In the mid 90's there was a high end men and women's clothing store on the boardwalk of Atlantic City where I grew up called Eleganza. The window's were hugh and wrapped around the entire store, there were lots of  beautiful items in the window with the name VERSACE in bold print on everything like Sweaters, shoes , dresses, coats and handbags, of course we wanted every item we laid our eyes on! That's why I'm so happy to see that Donatella has giving us a fashion throwback with a modern version of the classic 90's Versace collection. The name VERSACE has been printed in bright vibrant colors, like neon red , yellow and light green which are all embroidered on mock neck long sleeve tops with patent leather accents. The mid length leather skirt has a few large alphabets cascading down the front in neon green and black, which is right below the extra wide suede belt with a patent leather buckle .But it's the matching neon colored jewelry, strappy heels and greek embroidered stitched handbags that make this bold fashion statement complete and fashion forward!

If you have been following the house of Versace since founder Gianni Versace was the head designer you would already know that he was the master of mixing prints, colors and textiles! The 90's was the decade of the supermodels like Naomi, Cindy, Claudia, Christy and Linda who grace the Versace runways wearing Greek mytholo images like Medusa in bright fuchsia colors with overlays of black and white checkered squares, bordered with neon palm trees and baby angels flying to and fro the entire ensemble. Well Donatella pays homage to her late brother by revisiting the iconic area and giving it a modern and chic look! Instead of using printed silks and multicolored textiles she used exquisite and vibrant colored beading to create her own shapes, prints and textiles like only the house of Versace can create! Alphabits, hash tags, large @ logos and greek mythology borders over simple cocktail silhouettes like one shoulder, long sleeve chiffon & strapless dresses. Some dresses were covered in beaded design and some with just beaded design accents which glittered and sparkled down the runway!

  • The design and art work of each garment was magnificent but of course the whole collection was stunning, but I only blogged about My favorite looks because these updated throwback  fashions really hit home for me being a Versace fan since the late 80's and after watching the full runway show I will be a fan until my last breath!

My Favorite Red Carpet Looks At The Billboard Music Awards 2015: What the Stars Wore ?

Jennifer Lopez

Bow down! The "Booty" singer continued her trend of nearly naked dresses in a sheer Charbel Zoe gown with strategically placed silver swirls, teamed with Christian Louboutin heels. She kept the rest of her look simple, wearing her ombre hair in loose waves and pairing her peachy pout with smoky eyes.

Olivia Culpo

Nick Jonas' gorgeous leading lady dazzled in a black sequined romper by Elie Saab, which she teamed with jewel-encrusted black sandals and spotlight-stealing diamond earrings.

Danica McKellar

Wonder-ful! The Wonder Years alum — a presenter at the BBMAs — turned up the glamour in a slinky, one-shouldered sequined Shail K. gown with a thigh-baring slit.

Taylor Swift

Never out of style! The 1989 pop star — who opened the show with the world premiere of her star-stuffed new music video for "Bad Blood" — showed some skin in a cleavage-baring white Balmain jumpsuit with side cutouts. She accessorized the look with Brian Atwood heels and a custom black clutch reading "Bad Blood" in bold red letters.

Cannes 2015: Flats-Wearing Women Get Rejected, Celebs Weigh In

One look  the Cannes Film Festival red carpet,  and you know the unofficial motto is “go big or go home.” But we didn’t realize that applied to heel height as well. After reports surfaced that women were being turned away from the festival’s famous stairs for wearing fancy flats instead of celeb-worthy stilettos, celebs weighed in on the injustice of it all. Emily Blunt at Cannes 2015 ANNE-CHRISTINE POUJOULAT/AFP/GETTY Emily Blunt at Cannes 2015

,According to Screen International, Emily Blunt was asked about the red carpet rejections at a press junket for her film Sicaro (that’s her in a Peter Pilotto dress and Jimmy Choo, yes, heels) attending the event, above). “Everyone should wear flats to be honest. We shouldn’t be wearing high heels anyways,” Blunt reportedly said. “That’s my point of view. I just prefer wearing Converse sneakers.” The film’s director was said to chime in, joking that he and her costars Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin would also be wearing heels to the film’s Tuesday premiere in protest.

Though several people (including Senna director Asif Kapadia) corroborated reports that even older women and women with disabilities were turned away from the Carol premiere and instructed to come back when they had bought appropriate shoes, a Cannes spokesperson told the BBC by email that there were no such restrictions in place. “Rules have not changed throughout the years (tuxedo, formal dress for gala screenings) and there is no specific mention about the height of the women’s heels as well as for men’s,” the spokesperson explained. Festival director Thierry Fremaux also Tweeted that the reports were “unfounded.
Can you believe there’s a heel height requirement? Would you wear flats with a gown?
